Our First Memorial Tree
13 December 2021
In between the wind and rain over the last couple of weeks, we have been planting a 200 metre hedge made of Common Hawthorn, Alder Buckthorn, Common Dogwood and five other varieties. The flowers and berries that will grow in the hedge will be valuable for bees and insects, and the fruit an important source for birds and other wildlife.
We also planted our first memorial tree amongst the hedge, an Acer Campestre also known as a Field Maple. If you would like to know more about planting a memorial tree at Leafy Lane Woods, do contact us for more information.
